Tallow has been treasured for centuries as one of the most nourishing and skin-compatible fats available. Rich in fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E & K), essential fatty acids, and deeply moisturizing compounds, tallow closely mimics the natural oils found in human skin. This makes it incredibly effective at restoring balance, supporting the skin barrier, and delivering lasting hydration without clogging pores or causing irritation.

But not all tallow is created equal.

At the heart of our body wash is organic, grass-fed suet, the highest grade of beef fat available. We use a low-heat, slow rendering method to preserve its full nutrient profile, followed by gentle purification and fine straining. This ensures a clean, natural, and high-quality ingredient—one that’s as beneficial to the skin as nature intended.

Unlike many commercial brands that over-purify or deodorize their tallow to remove all trace of its natural character, we choose to honour its integrity. Over-processing can strip away the very compounds that make tallow so effective. Just like artisan olive oil soaps still carry a hint of their origin, the best tallow retains a soft, nutty and earthy scent—a sign of purity, not contamination.

This gentle scent is far from “beefy” and should not be feared—it reflects the presence of bioavailable nutrients. We use carefully selected essential oil blends that can either complement or completely mask the natural aroma, without resorting to synthetic fragrance or fillers.
